We call this wine our ‘Barometer’ for good reason. Being the first off the vine and into the winery each harvest, these grapes offer a first glimpse and early indication of the vintage ahead and quality in store.

Season
The 2023 season was long and cool. Steady and consistent ripening matched with low crop loads ensured all varieties ripened well with the benefit of good-sized canopies. Mild, cool nights enhanced flavour development. The resulting wines are richly flavoured and high in quality with incredible aromatics.
Vinification
Night-harvested Riesling grapes are crushed, destemmed, and cold-settled for 24 hours. Clear juice is inoculated with German Riesling yeast, and a slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel yields a small-batch Riesling with enhanced varietal character.
