2023 Gathering Cabernet Franc
$45.00 / bottle
Here comes the sun. That’s what our Cabernet Franc grapes get to proclaim before any other varietal on our estate. After all, being our most easterly facing vines, they’re first to glimpse sun each day.
DRINKS LIKE: Roasted coffee beans. Fennel. Blood plum. Dark chocolate. Savoury spices. Seamless tannins. Line and length
LOVE IT FOR: It’s approachability. Medium body, juicy and easy drinking. Food is absolutely non-essential.
FUN FACT: The first Cab Franc planting on our estate is thanks to cuttings from Paracombe Wines – true pioneers of Franc in the Hills.

Season
The 2023 season was long and cool. Steady and consistent ripening matched with low crop loads ensured all varieties ripened well with the benefit of good-sized canopies. Mild, cool nights enhanced flavour development. The resulting wines are richly flavoured and high in quality with incredible aromatics.
Vinification
Destemmed, basket-pressed and fermented steadily over 11 days. The wine is pressed into seasoned French oak where it matures for 9 months before bottling.
