2023 Gathering Gamay
$55.00 / bottle
The second this wine hits a glass, it shocks with its unexpected electric colour. Best described as a purple party thrown by its anthocyanins – the polyphenol pigments that bring the colour in Gamay’s red skins.
DRINKS LIKE: Blackberry. Violets. Juicy blood plum. Provençal herbs. Fine tannins.
LOVE IT FOR: One of the Adelaide Hills best kept secrets. It grows oh so well up here and its only a matter of time before the secret’s out!
FUN FACT: Grown since the 14th Century but has always played second fiddle to its famous neighbour, Pinot Noir. Not for long!

Season
The 2023 season was long and cool. Steady and consistent ripening matched with low crop loads ensured all varieties ripened well with the benefit of good-sized canopies. Mild, cool nights enhanced flavour development. The resulting wines are richly flavoured and high in quality with incredible aromatics.
Vinification
Single vineyard fruit is sorted into whole bunch and whole berry ferments, where it’s plunged and foot trodden twice daily over 13 days. It’s then basket pressed into 15% new and 85% seasoned oak and matured in our cellar for 8 months.
