Season
An exceptional vintage for the Adelaide Hills. Cool conditions in spring favoured excellent soil moisture, followed by a warm and steady November, absent of extreme weather events. Conditions remained calm allowing for beautiful canopy and flower growth, ensuring fruit was protected and well-set across all grape varieties. Cool and slow ripening conditions aided acid retention and gradual flavour development in white varieties, while the late season warmth and sunshine was ideal for the later ripening reds.
Vinification
An elegant cool-climate Syrah picked from one of the highest blocks on the estate, fruit is picked with a Selective Harvester and then fermented as both whole bunch and whole berries for 11 days. Wine is then pressed into a mixture of new and seasoned French oak and matures for 9 months.
