Lifted aromas of passionfruit blossom, elderflower and lime zest are complemented by delicate hints of fresh lemongrass. Season
The 2026 Adelaide Hills vintage was defined by a long, slow ripening season. A cool, wet spring delayed flowering and pushed harvest later than usual, allowing fruit to develop exceptional flavour intensity while retaining bright natural acidity. The result is wines of remarkable purity, aromatic complexity and elegance.
Vinification
Night-harvested fruit was crushed, pressed and cold settled, with only free run juice selected for the first time to enhance purity and delicacy. Fermented in stainless steel with cultured yeast, the final blend was assembled from multiple vineyard parcels to balance bright acidity with layered citrus and tropical fruit characters.

Fresh fruit flavour is served dry, racy and refreshing. This is an eminently appealing wine. It tastes of green apples, passionfruit and lemongrass and from start to finish it feels clean and pure.

Following a record-breaking dry growing season with corresponding low yields, expect a marked herbaceous quality to this wine. This is all about a sauvage-style wildness and taut intensity. Aromas of cut grass, asparagus, lemongrass, pea shoot, citrus and quince with a hint of passionfruit. The palate comes well balanced – citrus-herbals-acidity with the addition of a smooth textural creamy flow – and you can’t mistake that wild lemongrass, sage, gooseberry strong finish. Crisp, crunchy texture, just-ripe pineapple with dashes of passionfruit, a good squeeze of lime and cucumber in tonic water characters abound. A little slip and slide through the finish for something different in texture, showing off some more concentrated fruit character, too. Iconic stuff, done well. Mike Bennie Published 12 August 2025
