AWARD WINNING HAHNDORF FESTIVAL ON AGAIN THIS SEPTEMBER
Hahndorf has announced that their rich lineage of artisan culture will be celebrated with Hahndorf. Handmade. Handcrafted. Handpicked. The popular Hahndorf festival will feature more than 300 intimate events and experiences in and around the main street of the historic South Australian village this September.
Mikyla Gilbert, Marketing Manager of Hahndorf said the event builds on the past two years and enables lovers of artisan experiences more ways to get their hands on Hahndorf.
“This event was born out of COVID and has grown year on year with overwhelming positive feedback from event goers and traders alike – we even won the Best Regional Event in the 2021 South Australian Tourism Awards.
“We are thrilled to announce that it is on again!” Gilbert said.
New events on the program include workshops to learn everything from; playing pool, making the best coffee through to cooking an Italian feast and a Beerenberg cooking class. Learn the healing nature of crystals or try your hand at Drag Queen Bingo. Learn indigenous weaving or get your spook on at a haunted event.
These new events join popular favourites from last year like creating your own personalised collar for your furry friends, a German beer masterclass, through to the uber luxe electric bike wine and produce tour, Paella cooking classes, cocktail masterclasses, truffle chocolate making, cheesemaking and so much more.
Filled with bespoke experiences for all ages and tastes, you can find great events under the following categories: food & drink, art & craft, family fun, fashion & beauty, history & story-telling, workshops & masterclasses or if you simply love a free event – there is something for everyone!
The event concept was the brainchild of the Hahndorf Business & Tourism Association who wanted to champion the bespoke and diverse artisan culture of the region, which is only 15 minute’s drive from the start of the freeway.
The Lane Vineyard is hosting Blend Your Own Wine sessions and Gathering Experiences as part of the festival this year.

Hahndorf. Handmade. Handcrafted. Handpicked is presented by The Advertiser and proudly supported by the South Australian Tourism Commission and the District Council of Mount Barker. The festival starts on Thursday, 1 September and will run for the entire month. All paid and free events are ticketed.
