The Lane Vineyard named in inaugural MICHELIN Guide South Australia
The Lane Vineyard has been named a MICHELIN Selected Restaurant in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide South Australia 2027 – a proud moment for Head Chef Cameron Ahl and the team behind the Adelaide Hills restaurant.
The announcement was made at the MICHELIN Guide Restaurant Ceremony in Adelaide on Wednesday 14 October, with The Lane joining the first-ever South Australian selection from the globally recognised restaurant guide.
For Cameron, the recognition reflects what the team has been building at The Lane – food shaped by the seasons, the Adelaide Hills and a close connection between the kitchen, vineyard and winery.
“It’s a huge honour. To be recognised in the very first MICHELIN Guide for South Australia is pretty special, and I’m incredibly proud of the whole team.
For us, it’s always been about a sense of place. We’re a restaurant in the middle of a working vineyard and winery, so food and wine are naturally connected. The seasons, the Adelaide Hills and the incredible produce we have access to here really shape what we do.
There are a lot of people who put a huge amount into The Lane every day, so this is really one for the whole team. Right now, we’re just looking forward to celebrating together – and hopefully with a few of our regulars too. After that, it’s pretty exciting to think that MICHELIN might bring some new people through the door who haven’t experienced The Lane before.”
The Lane’s restaurant sits at the heart of its 100-hectare working vineyard and winery overlooking the Onkaparinga Valley. Cameron and his team work closely with South Australian farmers, growers and producers, with menus changing with the seasons and The Lane’s estate-grown produce and wines an important part of the dining experience.
CEO Jared Stringer said the recognition was something the whole estate could be proud of.
“For The Lane to be included in South Australia’s first MICHELIN Guide is something we’re enormously proud of,” Jared said.
“It recognises Cameron and the team, but also what we’ve been building here at The Lane – a place where the vineyard, winery, kitchen and restaurant all come together. To see South Australia recognised on this international stage is incredibly exciting, and we’re very proud to be part of it.”
Located three kilometres from Hahndorf and 30 minutes from Adelaide, The Lane Vineyard is a family-owned Adelaide Hills winery, restaurant and tourism destination, offering restaurant dining, wine tasting and a collection of food, wine and vineyard experiences across its estate.
